Corky when he first arrived - right

Corky came to PRoNE in pretty terrible condition. Previously given the name "Porky", he
weighed in at an astonishing 41 pounds. The poor boy had yeast infections in all his face
folds, in his ears and in all four paws, as well as an eye infection and a huge tumor
hanging from his neck. Did I mention that he was also blind?
He was surrendered with his sister Bella when their elderly owner was unable to care for
them because of her own medical needs.
However, it was for the best. The PRoNE foster mom that took in Corky was told that he
didn't eat dog food, but rather ate only Italian food and steak--hardly a good diet--and
very obviously the cause of some of Corky's medical issues. The poor boy went on an
immediate diet because of health concerns and lost an absolutely amazing almost 10
pounds in 7 weeks thanks to better diet and rigorous walking.
He was almost to his goal weight for surgery to remove the tumor when his forever family
found him. Despite being in somewhat rough shape still, they saw his inner beauty and
couldn't wait to make him part of their family.
Corky worships Amanda and Tim and has become a more energetic, playful and outgoing
dog thanks to their loving home. They hope to soon give him a sister to play with.
Congratulations Corky!
