Rally to the Rescue

Pug Rescue of New England's (PRoNE) mission is simple. We find homes for abandoned and surrendered pugs in the six New England states.

Pug Rescue of New England

Pug Rescue of New England (PRoNE) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that accepts, cares for and places abandoned and unwanted Pugs in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont. We accept Pugs of any age, condition or situation. Our Pugs will be checked by a veterinarian, updated on all shots, and treated for current medical needs before being adopted.

PRoNE is supported by donations, subscriptions to our quarterly newsletter, The Pug Phoenix, and other fundraising events such as the annual Pug Social held in October.

Sophie & Spider have been adopted into loving forever homes.

Sophie
Sophie

Sophie and Spider both have a liver problem called a "shunt". This shunt makes it difficult for their livers to filter toxins - like ammonia - from going into their brains. What it means in Sophie's & Spider's day to day life is that they are a bit excited at times and depressed at others because they just don't feel right. They are also a little clumsy and require expensive daily medication to maintain them. Unfortunately, extensive testing showed that neither would survive shunt surgery. Loving families have adopted our two beloved "shunt dogs". We thank all of you for your interest and support, including helping us raisemore than $1,400 for Sophie's & Spider's expenses with the Spring Yankee Candle Fundraiser.

For Senior Pugs, Age Is Just A Number

Many Pugs act far younger than their years and that the average life span of a pug is 12-14 years or more. What may be considered a "senior" in a larger breed is not the same for Pugs, who often play and walk energetically well past the age of 10. Won't you give an "older" Pug a chance?

Betsy, 13 years old, has been in PRoNE foster care for 3 years. She has many health problems and no one has adopted her but she is well loved by her foster family.
