Pug Rescue of New England's (PRoNE) mission is simple. We find homes for abandoned and surrendered pugs in the six New England states.

Pug Rescue of New England

Pug Rescue of New England (PRoNE) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that accepts, cares for and places abandoned and unwanted Pugs in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont. We accept Pugs of any age, condition or situation. Our Pugs will be updated on shots and treated for current medical needs before being adopted.

PRoNE is supported by donations, subscriptions to our quarterly newsletter, The Pug Phoenix, and other fundraising events such as the annual Pug Social held in October.

Can you be Champ's champion?

This little guy came in to PRoNE from Animal Control...he'd been picked up as a stray! He has some mobility issues from what the vet thinks is degenerative nerve disease and his vision isn't great...but he gets around (has difficulty on stairs or long walks).

Vet guesses he's around 7, he loves kids, other dogs, and being around a lot of activity. Lots of love for this guy to give - and he certainly deserves to be on the receiving end of love as well. If you think Champ can join your family, please fill out an application.

See more happy endings on our Facebook page!

Oliver is just one of the dozens of pugs PRoNE has helped find new forever family this year. We also helped him find a love of the water! This pug - fish mix (new hybrid breed?) loves to swim and enjoys long boat trips and quick jaunts back to shore.

For Senior Pugs, Age Is Just A Number

Many Pugs act far younger than their years and that the average life span of a pug is 15 years or more. What may be considered a "senior" in a larger breed is not the same for Pugs, who often play and walk energetically well past the age of 10. Won't you give an "older" Pug a chance?

We're now offering hospice adoptions for our senior pugs. Hospice adoptions are for dogs that we want to have a safe, loving home to call their own for their final years. Visit our FB page to learn more about Charlie, our featured hospice pug. 14 years young and with a lust for life, maybe you're the right family for Charlie?
